It is written in Isaiah the prophet:
"I will send my messenger ahead of you,
who will prepare your way" -
"a voice of one calling in the desert,
'Prepare the way for the Lord,
make straight paths for him.'"
Mark 1:2-3
this season of the gift of the waiting
is multifaceted in nature.
colors dance
rhythms sway
all creation sings
to the beat of His heart.
moments of quiet reflection
give way to moments of
celebration give way to
moments of worship
to moments of stillness
and so it continues.
all of these moments in the waiting
are wrapped in a gift...
the privilege of preparation.
preparation comes in the
outward of decorating
and wrapping
and so much
more.
and all add to
the joy of Christmas.
yet a preparation so much deeper
is the real gift of the wait.
He gives hearts everywhere
the gift of drawing near,
laying all that is within
at the manger turned cross.
no greater gift could be given
for only His heart, with love so passionate
could invite our hearts to come and give
that love so passionate back to the Giver.
sit in the silence.
kneel at the manger.
prepare and get ready
and come.
come and worship
come and worship
worship Christ the
