"all is well, all is well,
angels and men rejoice.
born is now Immanuel,
born is our Lord and Savior,
sing alleluia, sing alleluia,
all is well."
what is the essence of all is well?
what is required for all to be well?
in a sense the answer to these
questions would be as varied
as the hearts reading this.
for are we all not different?
do we not all live in
different places and
different seasons?
and do we not all
walk in our own shoes?
yet there is One who allowed
Himself to be born with feet
so human, requiring shoes.
He walked in our shoes
so we would know that
He gets it.
He gets our fear.
He gets our pain.
He gets our tears.
and our heartache and loss
and frustrations and anxiety
and depression and addictions
and loneliness and sadness and
every other emotion known to man.
He gets it.
and is that not a comfort?
for no matter how lost your heart
may feel in this season
of the waiting you can know
absolutely that He understands.
and you are the very reason
He came down as a human baby
wrapped in divinity.
and you are the very reason He
was willing to walk the road
which led to the cross.
for you. for me.
because of love.
all is well.
