joy in the preparing.
joy in the waiting.
joy in Christmas.
and tensions rise and
commitments soar and
money disappears and
hearts grow weary and
where is the joy?
joy to the world the Lord has come
let earth receive her King
let every heart prepare Him room
and heaven and nature sing...
we sing yet in reality we sigh.
how did Christmas get lost
in Christmas?
Christmas is not lost for
Christmas cannot be lost
for Jesus cannot be lost.
and if Christmas is Jesus
then Jesus is Christmas.
and to have one without
the other is truly not possible.
or in another word...impossible.
perhaps it is our expectations
and definitions of Christmas which
allow our hearts to get lost in this
season we call Christmas.
perhaps it is our own hearts beating
which need to change.
simplify the season and slow the heart
and open the eyes and count the gifts
and embrace those you love and kneel
at the manger and simply breathe.
breathe in the love born that night.
The angel said to them, "Do not be
afraid. I bring you good news of great joy
that will be for all the people. Today in the
town of David a Savior has been born to you.
He is Christ the Lord." Luke 2:10-12
