servant. May everything you have
said about me come true." Luke 1:38
a statement profound.
does a surrender
more complete exist?
a young girl's response
to an angel's visit.
and not just a visit.
no...rather a visit
with a message
from God Himself.
she would carry within her body
the very One who gave her life.
Immanuel. God with us.
she would give life to the One
who would give His life
so she could have life!
is there a paradox more mysterious?
for Mary had been chosen to give birth
to divinity
dressed
in humanity.
and even though she could not
understand the ununderstandable
or comprehend the incomprehensible
still her reply was one of faith and trust
simply unfathomable.
she gave herself to God.
oh to have a heart like Mary's heart!
to be able to give myself to Him
in abandonment so sweet.
and simply to wait.
wait even when the wait
is filled with uncertainty,
knowing that if I wait
for His heart to lead,
and follow where His
heart leads my heart,
any situation or
any circumstance
will be of Him and for Him,
and the glory will go to Him.
and so I will wait.
Now all glory to God, who is able, through
His mighty power that is at work within us,
to accomplish
infinitely more than we might ask or think.
Glory to Him in the church and in
Christ Jesus through all generations
forever and ever! Amen
