will see a great light.
For those who live in a land of deep
darkness,
a light will shine."
Isaiah 9:2
darkness.
deep darkness.
moonless night
cloud covering stars
type of darkness.
and have we not all been there?
have we not all looked up
and seen nothing but
darkness black?
I know I have.
at times the dark is an
actual physical darkness.
as in you cannot see your
hand in front of your face
type of darkness.
and you long for a light.
yet is not the type of
darkness which can be known
only as the dark night of the soul
a darkness even deeper?
and is that not perhaps the exact
darkness in which Israel had
been living and waiting?
God had been silent
for oh so long.
and hope wears thin.
perhaps this is where you are in this very moment.
hanging on by a single thread of hope.
wondering how.
wondering when.
wondering where.
and hope wears thin.
and giving up seems
to be a valid option.
oh but this is where His light
shines the brightest!
for the darker the dark the more
radiant His light! and no darkness
exists that His light cannot pierce!
Jesus came as a baby,
heaven in human form,
to shatter the darkness.
shepherds once in darkness
were stunned with the brilliance of heaven.
wisemen followed the light of a single star.
and always the light leads to Jesus.
in this season of the gift of the waiting,
know that His light still shines
and shatters and stuns.
and His name is Jesus.
silent night, holy night
Son of God, love's pure light.
radiant beams from Thy holy face
with the dawn of redeeming grace
Jesus Lord, at Thy birth
Jesus Lord, at Thy birth!
