in the still
in the quiet
in the waiting
He comes.
always.
for He
promises,
and His promises
are truth.
"...you will seek Me and find Me
when you seek Me with all your heart.
I will be found by you," declares the Lord.
Jeremiah 29:13
and does that not describe
advent most accurately?
for if a heart waits,
there must be something
or someone for which it waits.
and if that heart is waiting,
that heart is also seeking.
and looking.
and finding.
and therein lies the beauty
in this season of the wait.
that beauty so stunning
is simply seeking Him.
listening for His
whisper soft
in a world
so loud.
advent:
the arrival of a notable
person, thing or event.
advent: the season of
waiting in anticipation
for the coming of Jesus.
and oh the hope in that waiting!
"...the Lord Himself will give you
the sign. Look! The virgin will
conceive a child! She will give
birth to a son and will call Him
Immanuel. (which means
'God is with us.')" Isaiah 7:14
hope defined is Jesus.
hope allowed Himself
to be wrapped in our skin.
to walk where we walk.
to know hunger.
to know loneliness.
to know heartache.
to know abandonment.
all of this and so much more
He allowed Himself to feel
so we would know that
He truly knows.
and because of this
we have hope.
always there is
hope in the waiting,
for Jesus is HOPE defined.
