advent: the season of
waiting in anticipation
for the coming of Jesus.
and oh the hope in that waiting!
"...the Lord Himself will give you
the sign. Look! The virgin will
conceive a child! She will give
birth to a son and will call Him
Immanuel. (which means
'God is with us.')" Isaiah 7:14
hope defined is Jesus.
hope allowed Himself
to be wrapped in our skin.
to walk where we walk.
to know hunger.
to know loneliness.
to know heartache.
to know abandonment.
all of this and so much more
He allowed Himself to feel
so we would know that
He truly knows.
and because of this
we have hope.
always there is
hope in the waiting,
for Jesus is HOPE defined.

DeleteJulie I really needed to hear this today. I've been struggling too much emotionally lately it feels like. Overwhelmed by so many disappointments, pain and heartache that I have been thinking too much about all of it and not focused on what God is doing. Thank you for the remainder that He is our true hope and has already endured everything we endure. Love you.
ReplyDeleteYour beauty is stunning, Julie. I know it doesn't feel that way, but truly Jesus shines from you. Even in times of discouragement and pain. You have been through so much and although doing much better, you are still not where your heart longs to be...on the mission field. Yet you shine. Know that to struggle is live and to live is to struggle. Your heart for Him is amazing and I love you.
